In the Etobicoke suburb of Toronto in the 1980s and 90s, seventeen outdoor pools were opened every summer to the public. These pools played a profound role in the lives of everyone who dipped a toe in one of them: the Gen-X young adults who worked there as lifeguards and supervisors, and the adults and families and pool rats who counted the minutes until they could come in for a free swim. Take a deep dive into nostalgia and the world of Alder Grove Pool.
These are their stories.
